How to participate in a fic exchange:
1. Please think very hard and make sure you are able to fulfill your half of the exchange before you sign up.
2. Leave a comment on this post (the sign-up post) with the following information:
a) The screen name you use when posting fic or posting on message boards. (You can list as many as necessary.)
b) Your email address. I need a working email address that you check regularly to send information about the exchange, including your prompt.
c) A prompt for the author who receives you in the exchange. You can be as vague or as detailed as you'd like. Keep in mind that all fic exchanged here will have Rory/Logan as the central theme, but you can list other pairings you'd like to see as well, a quote from somewhere that you think would be great inspiration for a fic, objects you'd like to see, etc. If there's anything you do not want to see, be sure to mention it here, too. If you don't want smut, make sure to specify that. No angst or no fluff? Let your gifter know!
d) What you will not write. This is to make sure you do not get matched up with someone who wants something you don't feel comfortable writing.

Prompt: Holiday fic. Rory and Logan celebrating any holiday you want. Could be future or set during the series. (Maybe Christmas in London during season 7?) Characters I do not want to see: Luke, Jess, Dean, Tristan, Marty. You can include anyone else, but I particularly love: Finn, Richard and Emily, Paris. Any rating is fine, but smut is always nice. No PWP though, please.
I will not write anything that involves any of Rory's past boyfriends. I'm not a fan of Lorelai, and anything involving her will probably put her in a negative light. Also, I'm not really comfortable writing smut, though I could make an attempt if necessary.

Yes, it's an angsty song, and I love angst. I would love the fic to keep that angsty feel to it through most of it, but a happy ending is okay as well.
You do not have to actually put the lyrics into the fic, just base the fic on the theme of the song.
I would like the fic to be solely from Logan's POV. It can be third person or first person, but if it's from third person it should be third person limited (ie. the narrator can only get into Logan's head)
Rory and Logan's backgrounds as they are described on the show should not be changed. Everything up until the start of the series should be considered cannon for this fic. It can be AU after that --ie alternate meets, or changes to the R/L storyline as it occurred in the show are okay, but Rory as an orphan growing up in society with her grandparents is not.
Everything else I'm leaving up to you. Any pairings, characters, etc. is acceptable.
What I will not write: I'm not a big fan of seriously AU story lines. I will be willing to write AU if it keeps the characters true to how they are on the show. But for example, I won't write Rory as an heiress or Logan as a poor kid type stuff. Anything else is okay. I'm up for a challenge, so bring it!

Prompt: Um... I think I'm going to ask for an Alternate Universe story. Meaning, the background can be different or the future can be different (or Rory and Logan's entire relationship can be completely different). Something has to be different from the show... I don't want a fic that's like a deleted scene. However, I don't want an out of character story. Meaning, if you have Rory grow up in High society Hartford, you can't make her like Paris Hilton. Do high society Rory as if it were the same person, but they were brought up in a different situation. Again, you don't have to use this example, but just don't give me some kind of different character.
Doing something a little bit more dangerous than Stars Hollow-bred Rory is okay, because when Rory is put in a different situation outside of Stars Hollow, she acts more reckless (See: sleeping with a married man, stealing the yacht, and dropping out of school)... so don't be afraid to do... something more out of her element... especially if she's older or has a different background.
Anyway, in this alternate universe story, I want it to begin with Rory meeting Logan (or starting their more romantically-inclined relationship). The setting can be anywhere you want, the age can be anywhere you want (they could be teenagers at a boarding school or in their thirties at an office).
What I don't want is a story where they meet in San Fran after Logan starts his new job there... I don't like that. :) I don't want Dean or Jess... Marty or Tristan is acceptable. I want the two MAIN characters to be Rory and Logan... I don't want much of Paris, Logan's friends, or Lorelai.
Also, I want the story to be in first-person through ONE of the characters... and no fluff.
And that's the end of my pickiness.... it's challenging... but that's the point--to take people out of their comfort zones.
-Please don't make me do a post season seven fic... or an alternate version where Rory accepts the proposal... in fact, don't give me anything to do with the proposal or the silliness of season seven. Although, a story about Logan in London while Rory is back at home is acceptable... maybe... Um, don't give me fluff, don't give me a Christmas-related prompt. I don't want a prompt involving Dean.

Prompt: I would love something very RL-centric, angsty (but don't do dark, and don't make any of the characters terminally ill) and humorous at the same time. If you're going to use any other characters, use them to add humor into any given situation - and I don't see how any past boyfriend or bed-friend could aide in this. A little smut will be nice, although you can also allude to it if you're not comfortable writing it. No AU/OOC. Can take place at any time you'd like - S5-S7, or post S7. End it happy. Or at least very hopeful. Since there is some angst, don't make either one of them right over the other. If anything, make it so that they're both right and wrong at the same time, then they have to find a way to meet in the middle. Cue in happy/hopeful ending.
What I won't write: Something too AU/OOC. I haven't written RL in a while, and I think it's best if I don't get too out there. But that's not to say I can't write any AU. I just think it would have to be somewhat specific, and it would still have to be realistic as far as the characters and where they both come from. Umm... I'm sure I'll get my prompt and say "I refuse to write THIS!!!" lol. I honestly can't think of what I won't write. Well, I don't want to write anyone terminally ill, no violence, no rape - nothing twisted like that.

Colin frowned as he saw the drawer Logan had emptied out for her, the TiVo that he had programmed for her, and worst of all - the text message he had absent-mindedly typed and sent, though thankfully mistakenly to Colin's phone. Thanks for setting my alarm. I love you Ace.
Dammit. I told him that Rory Gilmore was bad for him. Colin thought bitterly. Cue whipped and pathetic Logan, take two.

Independent Rory please! Don't have Rory apologizing for turning down Logan's proposal. It was perfectly logical for a girl fresh out of college to not want to get tied down - even though it broke my heart, I don't like reading fics that vilify her because she turned him down. She can be sorry she hurt him, but not sorry for the act itself.

Prompt: This can be set any time except season 7. I don't want AU for seasons 5 or 6, but go to town on season 7. Hate that season. So if you do future fic (and I like future fic), go from what you think happened after Partings, not what the show says happened.
I want angst but with a happy ending. Maybe it starts with Rory and Logan in a fight. Or they've been broken up for years (though NOT because of any stupid proposal! Never happened in my mind, remember!) but one of them decides to contact the other. If you could find a way to work some banter and humor in there, that would be great, but I know it might be tough. :) I'm totally okay with smut if you want to add some.
This should mainly be about the two of them, but if there are other characters (like Logan getting drunk with his buddies before deciding to convince Rory to take him back) do not include the following: Stephanie (I think she's great and all, but she was in the show for one friggin' episode, pretty much, and while I enjoy stories that include her, it still bugs me that people can't seem to accept that...), anyone from Stars Hollow other than Lorelai, which means no Lane, Rory with any other guy, Logan with any other girl. If you do include Lorelai, don't make her too sympathetic. I like hating her. :)
Will not write: Anything having to do with season 7 or a world where season 7 exists. I'm doing that for Dock of the Bay, but I've decided that once that's done, season 7 never ever ever happened. Ever. And this means the whole season 7, not just the proposal.

3) A holiday fic (any holiday though, not just winter ones) in the point of view of a past lover or admirer of either Rory or Logan...or from a parent, close relative, or close friend....any one is good! It should give personal opinions of the character on their relationship, not just observing what's going on. Future or sometime in the show (even in the awkward friendship stage or the "no-strings" stage). Can be Alternate Universe, changing some details of how they met or how they were raised but nothing too different. Preferably not a scene on the show (like the Vineyard Valentine's Day). Anything in those basic parameters is great!
4) I won't write smut. Don't mind reading it, can't write it. I don't want to write something involving a post-proposal meeting. Those can be good but I don't have the talent to write something even semi-plausible. I prefer to veer towards Hartford or Yale stories vs. future-fics or Stars Hallow stories. Alternate Universe is fine as long as its not too far from the show. And I won't write angst. Maybe a little but nothing like über angsty. Other than that, I'm pretty open.

c) The song "Silver Springs" by Fleetwood Mac, specifically the lines, "Time case its spell on you but you won't forget me. I know I could have loved you but you would not let me. I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you. You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you." The words don't need to be included in the fic, just based around.
Angst, mostly, but with a darkly comedic spin. Angst with a side of fluff, so um... Flangst? Time frame: I'm thinking 1 of 2 scenarios: the first being post series, a few years down the road, following all storylines as they happened and going from there. The second, still being post series, but you can fudge the storyline to your liking... maybe they stayed broken up from the year before or maybe they got engaged, and it got called off before the wedding... whatever you decide, something happened post series that separated them, and now its a few years down the line and they're reconnecting. Either POV works for me, and I'm okay with all characters except Marty or Dean. I have very few requirements here, but I do ask that Lorelai and Rory not be "the bad guys" over the break-up if following the series' ending. Smut is always welcome, as long as it's not completely overboard, and yes, it has to make sense within the story itself.
d) I'll write pretty much anything! However, I'd prefer not to write something that has Rory being blamed and tormenting herself exclusively over the break-up. I'm okay with soft-smut, but have kind of gotten away from writing the really graphic stuff. Think late night HBO, not pay-per-view. Other than that, I'm ready and willing to write!

However you want to use that quote in your story is fine with me. If you would like to write an AU fic in which Logan is telling it to Rory or a love triangle similar to that in Love Actually that is awesome as well. Or if you just want them to be celebrating Christmas and watching the movie that is fine with me too. Like I said it is completely up to your interpretation. I don't want any AU story in which Rory is from Hartford society or the heiress to the Hayden fortune. I also don't want to see too many of Logan's friends. A little bit of Colin and Finn is fine but I want the main focus to be on Rory and Logan. You can make it as angsty, fluffy, or smutty as you'd like. (You don't need the links in the quote in the story. I just put them up there for fun.)
D.) What I will not write is pretty much everything I said above. I will write AU but I prefer to write Alternate Universes that are very similar to the world of the show with just a few changes here and there. I don't like to write anything too involved with Logan's friends (other than the occasional appearance of Colin and Finn) Smut is fine with me but I don't want to write PWP. Other than that I am open to write just about anything thrown at me. :)

3) Sorry, no fluff from me, oh contraire - oh well, alittle at the end is okay. I's like a fic placed in season 6 or season 7 (not afterwards!). Logan POV mostly, others are allowed. R/L had a fight (for example, don't has to be: Jess-mess, the Bridesmaid disaster, the Marty dinner, the high society party article, the Logan runs away from his problems after his big business crash or one we never had. If you use one of the show fights, it will go AU from there on). Still mad, Logan's at first not worried when it takes damn long for Rory to come home, thinking she's sulking away. But then he gets nervous and starts to worry. Soon, he just knows something's wrong. And he's right. Rory's been attacked (by Marty, Jess, a teacher, a madman, don't care) and hurt (you don't have to go to all extremes like rape or life threatening things if you don't want. A cut on the lips or scratches, a bruise or something like that is enough).
So in your story show the process from anger to worry to panic, him finding out about the attack and rushing to her/finding her (all up to you) and then taking care of her while dealing with the fallout and his own rage against the attacker. I'd prefer a happy ending, but hey, some things are all up to you.
4) What I won't write: Stories where she's back together with her exes or L with someone else, no PWP but please also nothing that requires a long fic from the setting on because I can't keep things short and if my bunnies are allowed to go wild I'll never make the deadline. Also, I don't won't anything that deals with the disaster the show left us with. I'm okay doing something post seven, but not with them separated or torn apart. Oh, and no song fics please, at least not when the lyric has to be included because I really don't like song fics.
I know it's a lot of no-goes, but the only way I can guarantee to deliver a story within the deadline.
Okay, I hope that's all and you find someone interested to write this story - and something interesting for me.

My request – I want au AU fic set in season six. Everything right up to Logan’s accident in Porto Rico has happened as per the show. But I want to see how Logan and Rory would have fixed there relationship without Logan’s accident. Must be in character, cannot be a song fic. Smut, angst, fluff are all fine.
What I won’t write – I don’t do OOC or song fics, I’ve never written an AU but would be happy to give one a go as long as it wasn’t too out there, (like one of them is the member of a gang as that would be OOC.) Smut is fine.

Prompt: Make it witty and smart, add some fun banter, angst that serves the storyline, a dash of fluff and some seriousness where needed. I want to feel happy after reading it. Maybe you can incorporate the idea that sometimes the best things in life are actually closer than they seem. This can be love, a thing a character thought they had lost, success, you name it. I enjoy reading about the inner "workings" of a character.
As for the setting, seasons 5 and 6 and a future fic are totally fine, please ignore the disgraceful parts of season 7, you're welcome to go AU for that season but please don't deviate from the original storyline too much if you choose to set the story in season 5 or 6. A future fic shouldn't be OOC, I still want to recognize the characters I love, at least at some point in the story.
R/L should be the main focus of the story, other characters are fine to some extend if they are actually needed for the storyline. Like many others, Lorelai is not my favorite person in the world, but if she serves a purpose, go ahead and include her.
Won't write: PWP, any kind of high society stuff, very OOC or AU, anything too angsty or too dark, anything that explains the happenings of season 7.

Prompt: First of all, sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been thinking long and hard about this :) The fic can be either AU or canon but not too OOC. No post season 7 fics. Please have Colin and Finn and some Paris, I love those three. I really dont want to read about Rory's ex's although if they are involved dont demonize them too badly ie rapist or violent. I just re-watched Romeo and Juliet and I would love to see something like that where both families don't approve. Or I'm a sucker for fics where Logan is the friend of Rory's brother. Its been done before, but I still love reading them.
What I won't write: I don't want to write anything with too much angst. I think that's one of the main reason's why I haven't written as much lately. No Dean, Jess or Tristan. I don't mind writing smut but not too graphic. Other than that I'll give anything a try. I'm up for a new challenge.

- Rory and Logan meet again, 10 years later, at a Christmas Eve party in London. The fic should begin at that event, and end 7 days later on New Year's Eve. As to the events that transpire in between, that is up to the author. As to how it ends, up to the author.
- Assume that Rory and Logan NEVER physically crossed paths prior to that party.
- WANT: Lots and lots of classic Rory-Logan banter. Sexytimes/smut, go for it, but nothing gratuitous or just-for-the-sake-of.
As for me, I'm game to write anything. :D

No Jess. Unless someone is punching him in the face as a sidenote. I'd really prefer it's just about Rory and Logan and anyone else that's in it is just supporting whatever you're doing with them.
